Pumpktris: The Pumpkin on which you can play Tetris
Just when you thought it was safe to leave the pumpkin in the living room with all your video games, you wake up in the morning to find that Tetris seduced pumpkin, which resulted in the unholy Pumpktris! Help, they are taking over the geeky world! Jokes aside, we think the Pumpktris is actually pretty awesome. It is basically a fully playable game of Tetris actually embedded in a real carved pumpkin! How cool! It comes with 128 embedded LEDs serving as the display, while the stem acts as the controller. The entire process looks long and complicated, but if you are the type who knows your way around LEDs, wires, matrixes and codes, you may be able to replicate this one at home. The game of Pumpktris took 128 LEDs, 256 pieces of heat-shrink tubing, and 313 solder joints to complete. The maker took more than twelve hours over a period of a week and a half to complete his project.
Pumpktris – the pumpkin with an in-built game of Tetris – will make the perfect décor for your Halloween party. Head over to the website to see the detailed account of how the maker actually went about creating this weird Pumpktris.
