SOLDIERS OF FORTUNE Trailer Takes a Shot at THE EXPENDABLES

The premise of the movie, which revolves around wealthy thrill-seekers who pay hefty premiums to have themselves inserted into military adventures, only to be put in actual danger, is more reminiscent of Tropic Thunder. Once again Soldiers of Fortune loses out, with nothing in the trailer amounting to more than a faint chuckle. Even with some damn fine actors, there’s seems to be not one ounce of chemistry between the cast. I’ll be waiting for this one to show up on TV when I’m in a hotel. Maaaaaaybe I’l watch it then. No promises though.
I always enjoy being wowed by first time directors with a unique voice, and seeing young writers bring something fresh to the table. But for first time director Maxim Korostyshevsky, and a writing team with few credits to their names, this surprisingly feels like an older director phoned-in a film that got overly screen tested.
What do you think? Does this film look worth watching?
