Open Question: I have a virus that is blocking all of my programs. How can I fix it?
I don't know much about this, but I have some kind of virus/malware/spyware etc that is taking the form of a fake anti-virus software. Whenever I try to open a system the pop-up message says that "Application cannot be executed. The file (appname.exe) is infected." Then it asks me to run an anti-virus software that I never installed. I can't download anything because that pop-up message blocks everything that might help. I can't open task manager, system restore, and other admin programs on my computer. I can't even open the anti-malware security program that I have installed.

Okay, i have a virus on my windows vista laptop (i think) but I'm pretty sure. it's a Toshiba. I can't really afford a spyware or what's needed right now. Does anyone know any other solution? How much would Geek Squad at Best Buy cost to do what's needed to do? If you need to know anything else, please let me know. I'm desprate. Open Question: I have a 'virus' on my computer, please help?
Okay, put simply... I have a virus that gives me constant pop-ups and even plays noises through my speakers, usually just a "Congratulations! You Won!" but last night I heard a male voice speaking some foreign European-sounding language and breathing, and honestly, it's getting really frustrating. I have Norton 360 so I've run about 6 full-computer scans (I've made sure to update my virus definitions each time) and each time, Norton doesn't detect anything - no worms, no viruses, no spyware, nothing at all. Today, I uninstalled Windows Internet Explorer as that was the program all the advertisements seemed to open with (Google Chrome was and is my default browser, so it didn't matter to me) and the pop-ups have stopped but I still think that the virus is on my computer. I'm worried that the virus might go and retrieve my personal information, log my keystrokes, etc. So is there anything I can do to remove this virus? Please help. By the way, I say 'virus' because I'm not really sure what it is. I was thinking my computer might be hacked, as in being accessed remotely and that the male breathing might have been the hacker? (My firewall is set to maximum security and is always on) Anyways, I just want to know of a way to solve this problem, and if any of you have had a similar experience.
