The WithMe Bone sooths a distraught pooch by smelling and sounding like the owner
How many of you have come home after a long day of work to find that your dog has completely shredded your couch to bits! While it is easy to get angry at your “undisciplined” pooch, it helps to take one moment to imagine the terror the little thing feels when you are not around. Chinese product designer Yunfan Tan has come up with a creative way to relax your dog, and hopefully deal with their separation anxiety a little. His WithMe Bone design uses the dog’s sense of smell and hearing to make him feel like you are still around. It is basically a hollowed out fake bone. You have to stuff a worn piece of clothing, something that smells like you, into the bone. Small perforations let the smell out. There is also a tiny voice recorder inside, on which you can record little messages to your dog. This is motion activated, so that the message comes on every time your dog shakes the bone.
The WithMe Bone by Yunfan Tan is a cool way for you to deal with your dog’s anxiety. Unfortunately it is currently only a concept. There is no word on whether it will go into production any time soon.
