It can be expensive to give your car a makeover with paint or airbrushing, so why not try applying stickers? The Japanese trend, known as “itasha,” isn’t as easy as peel and stick, but the decals might be less expensive than other exterior dress-up alternatives.  Actually, given that “ita” means pain, it could mean the pain inflicted on pocketbook.

The giant stickers often feature manga, anime, and video game characters. An array of detailed designs was on display at the recent Ita Fest in Tohoku; attendees gathered and parked to show off their cars’ graphics. Japanese blogger Yonchin was on hand and took a ton of photos of the event.
